​Please can you tell us about yourself and your business?
-My names are Adebola Adebiyi married with a son. Jobies beauty is my business name, we mostly deal on makeover, skincare, nails and all range of beauty products

What inspired you to start your business.
- It was my indescribable passion for beauty and adding glamour touches on people's faces and seeing the transformation between the before and after makeover that really inspired me.

 How long have you been in business
- Over 8yrs 

  How did you get your startup capital
- I stated way back during my university days, rendering nail fixing services to student on campus and adding up my monthly allowance to get more beauty products to sell from student, months after acquiring little capital, I did a makeup training course at House of tara and it took me to where i'm at today.

With so many people already established in the makeup business and so many others springing up every day, how do you intend to keep your business afloat.
-Constant up grading of my skills in order to be at the top of my game always.

 What product can you not do without
- My lip gloss

 What are your major challenges
- Epileptic power supply and the trend of mediocrity thriving in this business

 Kindly give some beauty tips
- Allow mositurizer to set for few minute before applying your makeup, this helps your makeup stick easily.

 What are the basic makeup tools for an everyday busy lady
-Every lady should at least own:
Mositurizer, moisturize your face to stick your foundation all day
Powder of your skin shade
Foundation to suite your skintype
Eyeshadow in frost and matte, so  U̶̲̥̅̊ can switch
Lipstick in Red or berry, so to switch from day to night look
Clear lipgloss to hold your lipstick all day
Water proof mascara to elongate your lashes

The Music Meets Runway Foundation was established in 2011 to support and empower emerging talent across the Arts, at critical stages in their creative lives. The mission is to use music and fashion to educate, motivate, inspire and change lives by providing assistance to the youth. By eithersupporting their growing business or by bringing Arts & Crafts into their educational system, thereby creating jobs, we are able to leverage our love for fashion and music to provide opportunities for philanthropic growth says Jennifer Olize, Founder of the Music Meets Runway Foundation.

 

 

Last year, the MMR Foundation through the help of sponsor; Sovereign Trust Insurance, was able to reaffirm its commitment to empowering emerging talents by awarding a 3 Million Naira grant to Olakunbi Oyelese, creative director of Nigerian fashion label; April by Kunbi at MMR 2013. This year, the MMR Foundation continues on the journey to find and showcase the best of African Fashion as we embark on a rigorous search for one designer who will join the ranks of Kunbi Oyelese as MMR Rising Icons.

IT'S BEEN A MINUTE

Hi all, how are you all doing it's been a while (as always) that have updated this blog. So much has happened on blogsphere, in my world , and generally all over the world. I hope to update you with as much as I can.

STYLE TIP :ORGANIZING YOUR CLOSET

How are u doing? It's a Saturday which is a good time to get organized for the week.
I got the inspiration for this post while with a client recently ( to help organize her closet ) . The lady is a mum to two adorable little boys, she is always busy, works regular 8 to 5 job , cooks weekends, busy with church activities on Sunday! She decided to take time out to organize her closet ( still working with her on other aspects of her style .....hair, nails ,accessories, scent, shoes,bags etc).

Below are a few tips she is working with, hope it helps you as well;

1) Organize  your cloths based on skirts, trousers, tops, shirts, blouses, jeans, jackets, inner wears , dresses ,shoes, bags, accessories etc.

2) Pair  the tops with trousers , skirts , jeans etc( each top can be paired or worn with more than one skirt or trouser). You can draw your pairing inspiration either from how your have previously worn the outfit or from any of our style inspiration post.

3) Organize your wardrope to casuals, formal , Sunday / church wears , weddings, miscellaneous wears etc based on functions you attend. For those that have different bags, accessories ,shoes for each event this can be paired along with some of the outfits.

4) Pair outfits that you can wear for at least 3 weeks in advance , this makes it easier and saves time if you are a regular  nine to five worker.

This is  a few basics to having an organized and easy to manage closet. It saves quite a whole lot of time, it helps you to know exactly what you have and what you need during your next shopping.

BEAUTY ON A BUDGET ; HOME MADE FACIALS

It's a new year and quite a number of us have new year resolutions, be it for our finances , health, beauty and style , attitude and so much more. Let's help you get started this year with a few tested and trusted home made beauty regimen's in your to looking better this year. I will be updating quite a number of posts on this particular series; beauty on a budget.

Home made facial mask;

Banana;  Banana can be used as a facial moisturizer that leaves your skin feeling and looking softer.Mash or blend a medium-sized ripe banana into a smooth paste, gently apply it to your face and neck. Leave it on for 10 to 20 minutes,rinse it off with cold . Look in the mirror, touch your skin. Do you feel or see any difference?

Apple cider vinegar ; Apple cider vinegar can be used to cleanse and tone the face. Mix 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar with 2 cups water , wash your face and then rinse your face with the already prepared mixture.

Milk; Make a mask by mixing 3 tablespoonful of powdered milk with water,with coat your face with the mixture, let it dry completely, then rinse with warm water. 

Mayonnaise ; Make a facial mask by using whole-egg mayonnaise .Apply the mayonnaise over your face and leave it on for about 20 minutes ,wipe it off and rinse with cool water. 

Yogurt ; Yogurt can also be used to make a soothing Facial Mask . You can use plain yogurt alone or mix with 2 teaspoonful of orange juice and 1 teaspoonful of aleovera. Apply on your face and leave on for about 6 mins.
